61Cleaning Your Synthetic Pillow
We have all had those moments, when we stare at something with absolutely no idea how to get it clean again. We usually toss it out!! But the state of our economy is proving our thriftless days are over. Economy dictates we keep our possessions a little longer than 'normal'.
Pillows is a prime example of our thriftiness. We keep our pillows and for this reason, among others, my first tip is on cleaning synthetic pillows.
What you will need: 1/4 cup detergent, 2 or more pillows and a non-static sheet. ( 2 or more pillows are necessary to keep the balance of your washer).
Action #1 - add 1/4 cup of detergent and choose the 'gentle' cycle. Only allow the washer to agitate for 5 min. Stop and set to rinse/spin cycle. You may have to spin twice if the pillows are too wet for the dryer.
*Note* You can add a few droplets of bleach or ammonia to the wash cycle if stains is an issue. Some others swear that vinegar does the trick. I use a bleach solution.
To dry your pillows select lowest cycle on your dryer and add in a couple of tennis balls, put into a sock, or a clean pair of sneakers. Great way of fluffing your pillows. You can add a non-static dryer sheet as well. Once they are dry remove them.

This is good to know! I've been meaning to clean my pillows, but was kind of afraid I'd destroy them. I'll give this a try!
